Wow! So, I decided to check out some different yarn stores than the ones that I had posted about yesterday. I still went to Purl Soho and Knit New York, but instead of going to Downtown Yarns, I went to School Products. That was quite possibly the best decision that I made while I was in New York! I got some of the most amazing yarn at some of the best prices I've seen, not that that is saying much since I haven't seen tons of yarn, but I think these were incredible prices. I got Baby Camel yarn that's 463 yards, fingering weight and it was $10! I got 4 skeins of that, because who wouldn't at prices like that?! I also got this wool/metallic blend that was $6.50/skein. I got two skeins of Hand-Dyed Cashmere that was 40% cashmere and 60% silk. It was $13.50/skein for 189 yards. The last thing I got from them was this amazing skein of hand-dyed mohair that was probably the worst deal that I got, so I suppose I won't reveal the price of that one =) I HAD to take pictures to put them up here because they are just AMAZING!
On top of that gorgeous yarn, I also got 5 skeins of Koigu from Purl Soho =) I was SO excited to get that since Stitch doesn't carry it because of the horrendous waiting list. It is the most beautiful color and I've decided that I'm going to make this caplet out of the new Interweave Crochet. I also got some Cascade 220 from Knit New York to make a felted bag for my mom that's out of Stitch'N'Bitch Nation. I know that we carry Cascade 220 at Stitch, but I just wanted to BUY something. I also got a really cool book on folk bags. I can't WAIT to make something out of it! Here's the picture of my Koigu, although the picture really doesn't do the color ANY justice =(

In other news, I have finished my first fingerless mitt -- minus the pompom which I will be doing once I get off the computer! Here's the picture of the mitt:
It's my new favorite thing! Well, I have to be up bright and early tomorrow and time also changes so I'll be losing an hour of sleep. So with being on the road for hours and hours today, I really feel that I need some serious sleep, and that is what I'm going to go do. Hope everyone loved the yarns that I got up in New York. I recommend that any knitter that is going to New York head over to School Products thats at 1201 Broadway. It's on the third floor. The guy is GREAT! He told my mom and I that his son owns Karabella! They had every Karabella imaginable, it was craziness, not to mention the insaine amout of imported yarn. You MUST check it out if you're in New York! Until next time =)
